Critical Care Western maintains a presence at local, regional, provincial, national and international levels. Our faculty members, who have base specialties in surgery, anaesthesia, emergency medicine and medicine, provide clinical care at all London sites. Academically, we are part of Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry at Western University. Our clinical practice is at London Health Sciences Centre. Between the ICUs at the two sites, we provide care to all critically ill ventilated patients with medical, surgical, post-cardiac surgery and trauma related conditions. We also support patients outside our ICU walls with Critical Care Outreach Teams.

Our training program is one of the largest and most established in Canada. Our members are also leaders for the Canadian Critical Care Review course. We have active and growing programs in high fidelity simulation and bedside ultrasound, and Resident Education. Our translational research focus is supported by the Centre for Critical Illness Research and active participation in the Canadian Critical Care Trials Group.
